Brief Overview
Anton Sokolov is an NPC based in Berlin, Germany. He is a noted Renaissance man
and esteemed intellectual, and is thoroughly competent in the arts as well as the sciences. Anton is also highly interested in the occult and the unseen arts,
although he has no magical talent to speak of and is disdained by The Outsider for his desire to understand and control the unknowable and uncontrollable rather than embrace its chaos and mystery.
Early Life & Self-Imposed Exile
Anton had to claw his way to the artistic and scientific renown that he possesses today. The son of former serfs who had been brought to St. Petersburg by their master to be trained as artists, Aton was noticed initially for his talent as a painter. He received schooling in the arts, and his patrons were eager to expand and fund his education. Upheld as a paragon of what the lower classes
could achieve through liberation and education, Anton toured Europe and moved through various aristocratic circles. Notably, he did portraiture for the Boyle, Pendleton, and Kaldwin families in England. Sickened by the hedonism and naïveté of the nobility, however, he refused to return to Russia after the Bloody Sunday massacre in St. Petersburg in 1905, and instead settled in Berlin to become a professor at Friedrich Wilhelm Unniversity.
